THIS IS ABOUT ME

LA VIE
My bottom line: I am happiest in nature. The ocean reflects my inner truth and the mountains remind me of my strength. Who wouldn't give up everything for this? Living and working in Europe had been my dream since I was a little girl. And I'm certainly someone who knows what she wants. When I was 13, I decided I was going to be in fashion, more specifically a designer, and here I am.
Full transparency, applying for jobs in Europe was resulting in radio silence. And then I turned 30, and something inside me decided it was time to take matters into my own hands. So the moment came; I looked at my friends while at a Mediterranean lunch buffet and said, I'm moving to Europe! Less than a year later, I had all things in place, ready (ish, who is ever really ready?). And go I did. The leap of faith has brought so much to appreciate
already. Experiencing dépaysement, grasse matinée, simply taking the time to be inspired, draw, and love everything around me. Taking time for the betterment of myself ~ mind, body, and soul. I see things that make me think, "This moment is what inspires great writers and artists of our time. I can just feel it". Accomplishing something that I've wanted since a little girl has felt groundbreaking. Although I have only accomplished the first half. I'm here, now; whose team do I belong to? I invite you to explore my work and connect to further discuss how my experience and perspective can contribute to your team.
WHY AM I LIKE THIS?
I am an apparel designer, climber, and bartender driven by continuous challenge, curiosity, and personal growth. Well, I was a bartender. Life has deeply changed for me (self-inflicted). With a strong commitment to education, adventure, and proactive problem-solving, I have pursued a permanent move to the EU to build a globally informed design career. I am dedicated to expanding my skill set in innovation, functionality, cultural influence, and emerging technologies, with the goal of contributing at the forefront of the ever-evolving fashion industry.
HOW I GOT HERE
While pursuing a B.F.A. in Fashion Design, I was awarded an internship in London with Zandra Rhodes in recognition of my fashion achievements and future potential. After spending a month and a half in multiple countries abroad, my fire was fueled. I immersed myself in diverse fashion landscapes and drew inspiration from the rich art history, architecture, and fashion influences of each country while cultivating everlasting friendships.
Since my return, I have worked as a Design Assistant in womenswear for Finley Shirts and, afterward, as an Associate Designer for Dillard's. I have worked across multiple men’s private label brands at Dillard’s, gaining a comprehensive understanding of various consumer profiles and their unique preferences in trends, fabrics, price points, and end use.
Each season involved end-to-end ownership of the design process, including color and trend research, sales analytics, monthly collection boards, fabric/trim development, collection proposals, tech packs, BOMs, sample evaluation, and art direction from concept through finalization. This breadth of experience has allowed me to thrive under extremely tight timelines, managing monthly deliveries limited to eight months out, while maintaining full control over design integrity and execution. Since being brought on to Dillard's, I have reorganized each brand’s functionality and overall cohesivity by:
-
Elevating technical packages through improved detail and organization
-
Streamlining fabrications and trims to better align with customer needs
-
Enhancing commercial prints and patterns appropriate to each target market
-
Advising overseas factories on garment construction and quality improvements
-
Introducing new design elements to strengthen overall brand identity
